"When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life."
Titus 3:5-6

Abiding in Christ is not about having the ability to accomplish anything. It’s simply a matter of trusting God and believing His promises. I give the Lord all of the glory for making it possible because the way of the cross is the only way.

Through years and years of vain effort, I failed in my attempts to enter into His rest because I thought that there was something I had to do to make it happen. While my objective may have been good, my methods were always driven by my old nature that was seeking a way to bypass the cross.

No amount of effort on my part could ever replace the completed work of Christ. My best attempt was always a statement of mistrust. I thank God for letting me fail in all my striving so that I can now enjoy fellowship with Him in every moment by simply trusting Him and His promises.

My prayer is for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
