“Trust in the Lord, and do good; so you will live in the land and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will act.”
Psalms 37:3-5

Have you prayed for someone for a long time and it has seemed to go unanswered by God? I have. It’s hard sometimes to keep our faith muscles strong when God seems to be silent on a deep longing of our hearts.

When this growth opportunity presented itself to me several years ago, I felt like God spoke to my heart to stay focused on the people He places in my path, the assignments He gives to me, and He’d take care of “my person.” And even though the Lord has yet to answer my prayer, I wouldn’t trade what He’s taught me in the waiting. He’s faithful. Serving Him is my delight. Staying focused on Him keeps me in a place of peace, instead of being swayed by circumstances. He’s faithful and I can trust Him. Trust is a choice I make each day. My heart is aligned with His, and I know that my prayer will be answered because it too aligns with His heart. Jesus told His disciples in the garden to “watch and pray, that they may not fall into temptation.” So I watch and pray and redirect my focus when I’m tempted to lose hope, I “commit my way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will act.”
