We live in a three-dimensional world, and everything we experience in the physical realm is measured that way. Yet Paul prays that out of our being rooted and grounded in love, we may experience God’s love in four dimensions through the power of the Holy Spirit. He also says that God’s love surpasses knowledge, indicating that a normal human being cannot comprehend it without God’s Spirit.
In God’s wisdom, He reveals Himself to people with simple, childlike faith and hides from the wise of this world. Without faith, it is impossible to please God, so He opposes the proud and shows favor to the humble. His love works in us and through us in a fourth dimension, and it never fails. God’s love overcomes evil by doing good instead of retaliating.
We experience God’s love when we obey His commands. Anyone who tries to follow Jesus’ example has difficulty unless we live in the fourth dimension of His love. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. When we face challenges in life, His love enables us to work through them in His power and strength.
