"Going a little farther, He fell with his face to the ground and prayed, 'My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.'”
Matthew 26:39
"Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Hebrews 12:1-3

Letting go of disappointments, heartaches and unfulfilled expectations is difficult for me. Having fellowship with the Lord in the present moment is always the best antidote. When I reflect on the cross and remember what Jesus had to endure to set me free, my discouragement is short-lived. Nothing I can face will ever compare to His sacrifice and complete surrender to His Heavenly Father and God’s purpose for Him. I pray that God will, in every disheartening situation, help me abide in His presence and keep looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of my faith.
