I’m a mom of daughters and one son. Someone asked me once, “What do your three girls have in common?” I responded with, “they are blood-related,” because other than that, they are so different from each other. Which I absolutely love! I joke that if I end up in a nursing home, one would take care of all the logistics and make sure I had everything I needed, one would make me laugh and make sure I wasn’t taking life too seriously in my old age, and the other would brush my hair and encourage me. I’m so thankful for them and how God has made them unique.
If you have kids of any age, you know that parenting can be challenging. One of those challenges is the enemy’s plan to cause division within your home. A few months ago, I could tell there was some friction between me and one of my girls. I was certain that I had done nothing wrong. After examining the situation more closely, I discovered that I was the issue. God helped me see that I was being prideful in not wanting to admit my mistakes. I was also holding a grudge against her due to a past hurt between the two of us. Once I decided to humble myself, admit my mistakes, and choose forgiveness, God was able to redeem our relationship. Which I will forever be grateful for!
