“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11
“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’ and, ‘Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness’.”
2 Timothy 2:19

I am so grateful that my relationship with the Lord was initiated by Him and not me. I have tried on numerous occasions to be my own, self-appointed administrator in charge of my life and I have failed miserably. I have started many projects and never finished them. They failed because the foundation on which I was building them came from a faulty perspective. When I heard the gospel and came to an understanding of what it meant, I gradually developed confidence that I could start my life over on a new foundation that had eternal significance. From the beginning of my adventure with Jesus, my mind has been progressively transformed from uncertainty to seeing life more and more from His perspective. He provided a wonderful support system upon which I was able to build a new life. He surrounded me with people that were encouraging and helpful in establishing a lifestyle that has Him in the center. I thank God for His faithfulness. Surrender to Him is still an act of my will but submitting the outcomes to Him makes it possible for me to be free from the anxiety and worry about the future. I know that no matter what happens, He is going to make it work for good.
