As I transition through the time God has given me in the physical world, I have become progressively more aware of His power working in my life. Before I started following Jesus, I looked at nature and my environment from a very carnal and hedonistic perspective. I viewed work as a necessary burden that I was required to do to provide the financial resources necessary to support my needs and desire for pleasure. I resisted boredom and would squander time, energy, and resources to conquer it. When the Lord rescued me from the kingdom of darkness and I started following Jesus I began to see things differently. My desires, along with the things I did to conquer boredom, began to change. My focus, however, remained on the material realm and I still had a problem with inactivity. Stillness, silence, and idleness seemed like a waste of time and I filled it with religious activity. After many years of living by faith in God, I began to value solitude and silence. Now, living with a steady awareness of His presence, I find great pleasure in observing how He is at work in the lives of my family, friends, and me. I find myself liberated from boredom because every waking moment with Him is an adventure.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
John 10:10
"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!"
Romans 5:17
