The faith displayed through the actions of the woman reaching out her hand to touch Jesus’ garments for healing is both inspiring and convicting. This wasn’t an accidental encounter. It was her faith that led her to fight her way through the crowds, knowing the simplest touch of His garments would heal her. I also think about how odd the rest of the crowd must’ve thought of her plan. Here they were just trying to catch a glimpse of this traveling teacher everyone had been talking about, yet she sought a personal encounter with Jesus herself. Wow…how many times do I settle for simply studying the teachings of what Jesus said instead of stepping out in faith, seeking to encounter him, and praying big prayers, trusting that He can do abundantly more than I could ever imagine. Father, please give me a faith that seeks to know You more than simply learn more about You.
“For she said, ‘If I touch even his garments, I will be made well.’”
Mark 5:28
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21
