“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.”
Genesis 1:31
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.”
Philippians 2:13

I am very grateful that I can associate the word good with God. His plans for me are for good and not for evil. His message and testimony are good news for all mankind. He has shown me what is good along with what He requires from me; to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him. In every situation, no matter how bad it may appear, God is able to make it work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. He wants us to share in His holiness so He disciplines us for our good. Since it is evident that God only has my best interests in mind when He reconciles me to Himself and makes me one of His children the natural result should be my absolute surrender to Him. Why is that so complicated? I have found a simple answer; my insidious ego is diametrically opposed to God and has conditioned me to think it has a better way. I thank God for helping me see the truth that my ego wants only one thing and that is to take God’s place in my life. God is good, all the time!
