Finally, we come to the soil that Jesus calls good (fruitful). What stands out to me about this soil is the progression of planting that occurs. The seed is 1) sown, 2) accepted, and 3) produced. God created us in His image as human beings, not human doings. For us to live abundantly here on earth, part two of the sequence is of utmost importance. It is the key to producing a fruitful harvest. In fact, when God’s grace and word falls on the fruitful soil, we learn that not only does it produce a crop, but it produces a crop thirty, sixty, and a hundred times what is sown.
To produce such a fruitful crop, we must accept and adhere to God’s instruction. The people around us (and ourselves) are desperately seeking purpose and hope. There is no greater hope than what Jesus offers us through our life and faith in Him. What is God asking you to accept?
