“I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
Hebrews 12:2-3

When I have an expectation that something is supposed to occur a certain way, I am setting myself up for disappointment if the event doesn’t happen as I anticipated. Depending on the significance of the event, my letdown is anywhere from mild to severe. However, when I trust God and desire to please Him in every situation, I am preparing myself to have a positive experience no matter what the outcome may be. When negative things occur, He is able to use them as opportunities for my good. No matter how unpleasant they may be, I am never separated from Him because I can maintain my communion with the Lord in any situation. It is my earnest prayer that God will help me to continually keep my eyes on Jesus Christ and follow His example, no matter what the circumstances are that surround me.
