I am unable to please God unless I have faith and believe that He exists. In addition to that, He promises to reward me if I earnestly seek Him.
However, the faith I need to believe is a gift from Him so the assurance I have that He is the sovereign creator of all things didn’t originate in me.
I gratefully give Him all of the glory for the understanding I have of Him because unless He chooses to reveal Himself to me I wouldn’t know that He exists. When I read the Bible, I can’t understand it unless the Holy Spirit teaches me what it means. Everything I am and have that matters is the result of what He has done in my life.
The one thing that I can choose to do, now that I know He is with me, is to seek Him in everything I do. That is what I want to do, and by His mercy and grace, I am going to do it.
