"The unfolding of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple."
Psalm 119:130
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17

When the light of Scripture reveals a pattern in my life that has been hidden in the darkness, I am faced with a choice. Either I acknowledge and confess it or I deny and reject the freedom God is offering me. When I am comfortable with the habit, the decision is more difficult. Even though it may be the cause of suffering and pain, my tendency is to rationalize and justify the bad behavior. The insanity of such reasoning defies logic and proves how unconscious my ego really is. What is even more irrational is when I identify with others who are like-minded and defend my action as normal. The strength I need to turn from my wicked ways is a tremendous gift of the Lord’s grace and readily available when I humble myself in complete surrender to Him. I thank God for His rebuke and guidance to make the corrections necessary for me to stay on the path that is filled with abundant life.
