"It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."
Luke 12:38-40
If my life reflects a heart sold out to the gospel and the great commission, then I'm ready. Recently, I read a quote that said, "If you are always ready, you don't have to get ready."

I have never been more prepared than right before having a baby. I would spend months leading up to a birth getting everything together, from my house to childcare for the other kids, meals, and baby supplies. Being a slight Type A, I would have everything done well before it needed to be, and I would find myself sitting in a place of readiness and anticipation. I wanted everything perfect for when I met our new little one. I knew this baby was real…I had seen evidence of their existence through my growing stomach, ultrasounds, and movement, but I had never met them in person, and I wanted everything to be just right. I have a similar anticipation to Jesus’ return.

Even though my relationship with Jesus is deep and authentic, I’ve never met Him, and just like our newborn, I want to be ready. This readiness, however, looks differently. It’s a lifestyle and a condition of the heart. If my life reflects a heart sold out to the gospel and the great commission, then I’m ready. Recently, I read a quote that said, “If you are always ready, you don’t have to get ready.”
