A few weeks ago Bob Maas shared about the tower of Babel and how the people were trying to make a name for themselves. However, the tower of Babel was a monument to themselves, not to God, and they felt it was what would keep them and their future secure. Isn’t it interesting that the very thing that they wanted to achieve (“a name for themselves”) is what God offers to us in HIS name? Only His name is a strong tower, only His name gives us an identity that is secure, and only His name guarantees our future both on earth and into eternity.
