“How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.”
Psalm 84:1-2

While I’ve never heard an audible voice from God, there’s been many times throughout my walk where I’ve felt His presence, primarily through the peace I’ve experienced in trials and turbulent circumstances. The peace that comes from the Holy Spirit is one of the most comforting yet confusing concepts to explain to the world. Despite more questions than answers, more uncertainty than certainty, or problems than solutions…when I fully surrender my circumstances to my Heavenly Father, I feel His peaceful presence. He’s got me, and He won’t let go.

It’s such a simple truth, yet I find myself routinely turning to the world for security and support instead. Much like Adam and Eve in the Garden, the world’s ways often seem more convenient and controllable…but Lord, please rid distractions and idols that draw me away from Your presence. May my posture be that of the writer of this Psalm, longing desperately for You and Your presence.
