“Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips. Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies.”
Psalm 141:3-4
“Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Whenever I wonder what God’s will is, the one thing that I can do to be certain I am carrying it out is to express gratefulness for the things He has done in my life. Conversely, the one thing I can do that leads me away from Him and His purpose for my life is to complain. There are an infinite number of things that are happening around me all of the time and they can be simply classified as good or bad. I have no control over them but I do have the power to choose how I respond to them. I want every day of my life to be a day of thanksgiving so my prayer is that He will make me aware of my complaining so that I will quickly return to doing His will by expressing how appreciative I am for the cross and its power to deliver me from evil.
