There are two particular reasons to love the first chapter of Ephesians. One is that it reminds us of and encourages us in the many blessings we have as followers of Christ. The other reason is that it reminds us to pray for our spiritual family in Christ. Paul was speaking to and praying for the saints in Ephesus, and we get the privilege of following his example by praying for our fellow saints today. This includes praying for believers in our church family, our community, as well as, ministry partners both locally and abroad.
Our faith in Christ is our common thread and his love is the tie that binds our hearts with fellow believers. Father, I ask that you would increase our faith and pour your love into us more and more, calling us into love-fueled intercession for your church.
