"Jesus answered them, 'It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.'"
Luke 5:31-32
"In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead."
Acts 17:30-31

The gospel hasn’t always been good news for me. The first time that someone tried to explain it to me I got so angry that I quit talking to him and didn’t want to hear any more about it. I am so grateful that the seed he planted began to work in my heart and eventually the Lord enabled me to see how depraved and desperate I was. I could not help myself and needed Him. It was then that the gospel became good news that reconciled me to my heavenly Father and set me free from the power of sin. My mind had been conditioned to thinking that I could live my life any way I wanted. The reason I was so offended in the beginning was because when I heard that I couldn’t do anything to save myself, I found myself in a place of despair and hopeless. Eventually I came to the realization that living my life any way I wanted was destroying everything that was precious to me. The gospel was so powerful that it transformed my life and regenerated me into a new creation. Now I am grateful that the Lord opened my eyes to see how degenerate I was for it was only then that I saw my need for Jesus Christ.
