"Remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ."
Ephesians 2:12-13

Do you remember how you lived your day-to-day life before you began following Jesus? I do. I was so full of myself. I thought I could fix and control everything. Everyone’s problems were somehow always mine to fix or figure out. Being the oldest daughter in my family somehow meant being the family therapist.

But Jesus. Jesus! He put me together and clothed me with joy. He taught me the beauty in surrender, the beauty in letting go of what isn’t mine to carry. To let down the load and turn and fix my eyes on Him and Him alone. Yes, every season of life encompasses new challenges, and maybe a thing or two (or many things) we are still working on surrendering, but lucky for us, His favor lasts a lifetime. We all have hope because the blood Christ shed on the cross for us brought us near to the Father.
