"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
John 16:26

Throughout my life, I can clearly see people whom God placed in my life’s journey. People like Mama Moss who was my kindergarten teacher and my preacher’s wife. She knew just how to get me to listen in church. In my high school days, it was Mr. Howard who gave his best to teach me God’s Word every Sunday. As a single adult, God introduced me to the Rickenburgs who entrusted me with teaching a Sunday School class. They guided me deeper into knowing the Bible and sharing its truths.

On the saddest day of my life, Mark Sandlin knew just what to say to me when my Dad died suddenly. His words of comfort eased my deepest loss. Most important of all is my wife, Arlene, who I see daily opening her Bible to know God more. Each one is a gift from God to teach me, challenge my faith, and comfort me in my hardest times.

We probably all have someone whom God placed in our lives who holds special significance to us. Just thinking of them brings comfort and joy to us. Jesus spoke to His disciples about an Advocate whom the Father would send. The Holy Spirit lives inside those who believe and live by faith. You are never alone because the Holy Spirit is always with you. As your most important Counselor, He is there to teach us God’s wisdom and truth, and to be a daily reminder of how much God loves you. He provides peace that surpasses our own understanding. Today I hope that the Holy Spirit brings you joy in knowing you are never forgotten or alone because God is always with you.
