“Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it’.”
Matthew 16:24-25
“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”
Galatians 6:14

The wonderful things Jesus taught and the example He set are the way I want to live my life. My problem is that I can’t do it in my own strength. It is only through the Cross that I am able to be a disciple of His. God has provided it as the only solution for the guilt and shame of my life. The consequences of every sin I have ever or ever will commit are washed away by the blood that Jesus shed at Calvary. It is also through the Cross that I am able to surrender everything to Him because in Him I have everything I need to live in His Kingdom. As I die to my ego and yield my life to the Lord, Christ is the one who bears His fruit in my life. In every difficult situation I face I have an opportunity to experience His love, joy and peace.
