One of the wonderful things about enjoying fellowship with the Lord is being content and not wanting anything or feeling like I need anything. The peace and joy that I sense gives me tremendous fulfillment. I can remain in that state for a long time, knowing that all is well. When I get distracted and my mind is focusing on speculative thoughts about the future or regrets and misgivings about the past, that peace leaves and it is replaced with worry or fear. I am so grateful that God never leaves me and by simply redirecting my attention towards Him, the awareness of His presence brings back that calm assurance immediately. I thank God for His mercy, grace and faithfulness. I am at rest when I am abiding in Him.
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal.”
Isaiah 26:3-4
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27
