And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Isaiah 35:10

A key question for God’s people throughout history has been, “Can God be trusted?” We read the Bible and know that the answer is a big YES…He loves us, He knows what’s best for us, He looks after us, and He’s always in control.

But the Israelites, just like we can at times, questioned God once things didn’t go the way they expected them to. They started to think they might be better off taking matters into their own hands, similar to Adam and Eve in the Garden. But not only is God so patient and gracious with us, but He has also made promises to us. Promises to always be with us, promises that we can be with Him forever in Heaven, and promises that He’ll return to earth one day. Talk about joyful promises!

As we count down the days to Christmas, we can find joy knowing that if we trust in God, He’ll handle the rest.
