Reflecting on the Lord’s love is mind-blowing. It is a perfect, unconditional, and sacrificial love that, as human beings, we can hardly fathom. I think about the Israelites and the countless times they doubted and turned away from Him, yet God continued to rescue and provide for them. In this season specifically, I especially reflect on the overwhelming love of God that led Him to provide His one and only son for us. Jesus came to Earth, being fully God and fully man, to live a life we could not live and to pay the debt that we could never pay through His death on the cross.
This type of love should compel us to worship and witness to others. The psalmist here is responding to the Lord’s unfailing love, saying he will sing of His love forever and make His faithfulness known. How often do we really reflect on all that God has done and continues to do for us?
1 John 4:19 says, “we love because He first loved us.” Everything we are, that we have and that we do is possible because of Him. Yes, even our capacity to love! Let our prayer be that we would receive the love that God has for us and let it truly transform our hearts and minds in order to worship Him and share His love with others.
