The parable of talents has always stood out to me. In summary (you can check it out in Matthew 25), a man was going on a journey and he entrusted his wealth to three of his servants. When the man returned, he and his servants settled the accounts. The first servant doubled what he was entrusted with, the second servant doubled what he was entrusted with, and the third servant buried his in the ground to keep it safe. To the servants who doubled their amounts, the man replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Whatever God has given us, He asks us to do it all in the name of Jesus. If you are folding your family’s laundry, you are faithful with what you have been entrusted. If you are taxiing your kids to and from, you are faithful with what you have been entrusted. If you are persevering through a job with endless demands, you are faithful with what you have been entrusted. If you are waiting for God to provide, you wait faithfully with what you have been entrusted. God sees us; may our words and deeds be pleasing to Him as we give thanks to the Father.
