“For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin.”
Romans 6:5-7

What a beautiful statement about the freedom found in Jesus. No longer does death have the final word. No longer are we bound by those chains. We have been given hope because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and now we get to walk in new light. Reading over these verses fills me with so much joy and reverence for the Holy God.

Even with my sin and baggage, the Father so desperately wanted to be in a relationship with me that He gave His one and only Son to pay the price and called me to His Kingdom. Through Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, not only have my sins been wiped clean, but I now have hope that my home is not here! I have hope knowing that I will be face to face with Jesus one day, living in His eternal glory.
