"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left."
Exodus 14:21-22

Our family recently experienced a “parting of the sea” moment. This past year, we found ourselves in a tough financial season. Then, recently, we came up against a tight deadline. We needed God to come through in a big way.

We were doing all that we knew to do. We were faithful with everything that came our way, wise with our money, and praying. Lots of praying! As that deadline approached, we shared with our Community Group what we were going through and what we needed God to do in just a few short days. The morning after we shared with our group and they prayed for us, God provided the money we needed to meet our deadline! It was a miracle! A miracle that we got to share with our whole group.

As we waited and prayed, I needed to be reminded of God’s faithfulness, just like the Israelites. In Exodus 14:13-14, “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.'”

Today, I celebrate how mighty our God is when we are still!
