The only way I can experience the peace that passes all understanding is when I am surrendering everything to the Lord. The moment I realize that I am not experiencing His peace is the greatest indication I have that my ego is fighting to regain control of my life. The good news is that I have learned from years of trying to be in charge that it is just not worth it. I am the most content that I can be when I have relinquished everything to Him. The serenity that I experience when I am facing adversity enables me to think clearly and hear Him speak to me in one of the many forms in which He communicates. I pray that God will help me live continuously in His presence, aware of the peace and joy that is mine because of my inheritance as one of His children.
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we a have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."
Romans 5:1-2
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful."
Colossians 3:15
