"The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 5:20-21
"Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So, the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian."
Galatians 3:23-25

God gave me His commandments, laws and statutes so that I could have some boundaries to keep me from straying away from Him. Unfortunately, there was something in me that had a propensity to disobey what I was told. As a result, my curiosity and inquisitiveness attracted me to things on the other side of the perimeter the Lord set for me. When I crossed the line, it did not take very long before I started feeling the pain of my rebellion and began to experience misery and suffering. I am grateful that the anguish and despair I eventually felt became unbearable so I needed to seek help. I thank God for sending me a messenger of the gospel who was able to use His law as a teacher to show me the way to Calvary where I discovered His mercy and grace. Now I am a personal witness of His transforming power. I pray He will lead me to others who are experiencing hardship and torment. Then I can point them to the cross of Jesus Christ so that they can find freedom to abide in Him.
