Joel Hernandez
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4: 1-3

Our calling as believers is not just about what we believe but how we live it out in our relationships with others. Ephesians 4:1-3 challenges us to embody humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in love. These things are essential because while we may think our actions and attitudes don’t carry much weight beyond ourselves or our families and close friends, they can directly affect the unity of the body of Christ. When I let pride or impatience take over, I disrupt the peace that God desires among His people. But when I choose to be gentle and patient, I reflect God’s love and contribute to the unity that Paul describes.

This unity isn’t just an ideal—it’s something we’re called to actively maintain through the way we treat each other. As we meditate on these verses, let’s be encouraged to make every effort to live in a way that fosters peace and love, allowing God to work through us to build up His church.
