Imagine a tumbleweed that blows across an abandoned road. It is dry, rough, has no roots, and typically shows up in empty and lifeless places in movies and books. That’s what I imagine when I think of not meditating on God’s Word frequently. We can find ourselves being blown in every direction, feeling empty and burnt out.
In contrast, if we choose to read and reflect on God’s word consistently, we can be planted, unwavering, and fruitful in what God has called us to do.
While this doesn’t guarantee the absence of struggle, it gives us a hope that in the stress, the chaos, and even the celebrations and contentment, we are sustained and equipped to persevere by the word of God.
