“Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand — a day of “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.”
Revelation 1:17-18

No matter our age, or life experiences, as a follower of Christ, we will have moments in which we experience Him in a deep and intimate way. It may happen in seeking Him through prayer & worship, while meditating on His word, through His holy conviction of sin, or in the comfort He bestows in our times of distress or sorrow.

He meets us in countless ways, and sometimes, this experience can be extraordinarily intense. Many times throughout scripture, we see people overwhelmed by the Presence of God, falling prostrate before Him.

This passage speaks of Jesus’ compassion and mercy. It’s like laying a warm blanket of His love over us. He reassures us that we have nothing to fear in His presence. He reminds us that He is the First and the Last, the Living God who goes before us in all things. He also comes with purpose, as He brings John a message for the church. Our God is intentional in all of His ways.

Is there an area in your life where you have been waiting to hear from God? Or perhaps an area you’ve been attempting to withhold the Lord’s access through sin choices? Rest assured, as His child, He will come to You in His timing, and it is always for our benefit.
