Many times, I come to forks in the road where I have three choices. One of the roads will lead to darkness; the other road leads to light; and if I’m not certain which road I should take I can wait on the Lord to show me His path. It really does make a difference which road I choose. Anxiety or contentment; disappointment or fulfillment; agitation or delight; displeasure or pleasure; dissatisfaction or satisfaction; misery or serenity; anger or calm; bitterness or forgiveness. It used to be that the road I chose most often was the one that looked the easiest but ended up bringing me a lot of hurt and pain. Now I want to choose the other road that leads to life, even though it may appear to be difficult and demanding. I pray that the Lord will help me to recognize that the good and perfect gifts always come from Him when I am patient and trusting.
“This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
Deuteronomy 30:19
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14
