I can easily get distracted by the worries of the world. Big or small, there are always decisions with consequences both in my control and out. And while I wish I could say I approach every anxious or uncertain situation with the certainty that God will provide, I definitely have more work to do in this area. Recently I’ve found reflecting on God’s goodness in my life a helpful step towards deepening my faith and trust in Him. Sure, I know in my head that He loves and cares for me, but when have I tangibly seen that in action? Oh yeah, last week…or a few months ago…or years ago, if I really start to think about it. Hebrews 11 highlights many of the ways God worked throughout the Old Testament, time and time again pulling through for His people.
Father, thank You for Your loving grace when I come to You with my doubts. Please strengthen my faith during times of worry and despair. Remind me of Your presence, for I know and believe You will never leave me nor forsake me.
