Wow, what a great scripture for “such a time as this”. We are seeing all around us and in the news, devotion to things, opinions, worldly beliefs, what others think and believe. Do we see very much honoring one another above ourselves? Everyone seems to not be lacking in zeal but are we devoted to each other in love? Are we honoring one another above ourselves? Are we keeping our spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. As believers in Christ, we are to honor people because they/we have been created in God’s image, they/we are brothers and sisters in Christ. They/we all have a unique way of contributing to the Body of Christ. Is it easy? No, but Jesus never said that what we do as we represent Him, would be easy. During 2020, I have been consciously trying to be devoted to other’s in love and to honor them above myself. Has it been easy … NO. Has it been worth it … YES. When we serve the Lord with love, honor, zeal and spiritual fervor (intense and passionate feeling), it makes it so worth it and it brings joy. Going to that person that you need to ask for their forgiveness is one way that we are devoted to our friend in love and honoring them above ourselves. Remember Jesus never asks us to do something that He hasn’t done for us.
"Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord."
Romans 12:10-11
