Every day is a fresh adventure with the Lord. I usually have a few plans but there are many things that happen spontaneously that entice me to do things that divert my attention from the fellowship I am having with Him.
Mostly they are disguised as urgent tasks that demand immediate attention. It is becoming progressively clearer to me, in those demanding situations, that I can use them as opportunities to be still and occupy myself in deeper communion with Him.
With God’s help I can ignore the unimportant burdens and simply let them dissolve into the illusionary world from which they came. Each time I conquer the compulsion to become preoccupied with meaningless activities, I become stronger and more resolute in my walk with Him.
I pray that He will help me be consistently more discerning so that I can distinguish the vital from the trivial.
