"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
John 16:33

I don’t know about you, but the “Church that Heals” series could not have come at a better time for me. Over the last year, I have been facing overcoming life and ministry hurts that I have been holding on to. I realized that I built walls when in reality I just needed to establish boundaries. I realized I began to isolate myself, when what I really needed was healthy relational connection. I realized that I was frustrated from the pain that continued to linger, and I just needed a bit more time. Ultimately this journey has been a roller-coaster filled with anger, joy, frustration, hurt, repentance, healing.

In all of this I’m reminded of the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus paid to not only give me hope, but has guaranteed my story to be that of an overcomer. You see, Jesus became needy so that we can be satisfied. Jesus became weak so that we can be strong. Jesus became rejected so that we can be accepted. That’s the power of the cross! That is why we can take heart through the hurt and the healing! All because we follow the ultimate overcomer!
