When I read this verse, I think of trust and sanctification. I can trust that the Bible is true and valid because it is God-breathed. Because the scriptures are from God, they hold an incredible amount of weight, power, and significance. This prompts me to have my eyes and ears open to what He has to say through each and every verse.
After we say yes to Jesus and choose to follow him, the process of sanctification begins, where God is shaping and refining us to become more like Him. How do we do this? Through our time in scripture. Without God’s Word, it would be hard to know where to begin, what changes we should make, or even how to hold ourselves and each other accountable. Scripture is our blueprint in life, to seek daily and reference in order to become more like Jesus.
If scripture is the key to equipping us to live a righteous life, are we giving the appropriate level of attention to the word of God? Who or what are we being shaped by if we aren’t allowing scripture to do so? It is vital that we trust God’s Word so that we can be shaped and molded by Jesus above anything else.
