When I am able to do a task routinely, if I’m not careful, I can become preoccupied with other thoughts. If I am in a conversation with someone or listening to a lecture and I lose interest in what is being said, the same thing happens.
I confess that for many years this is how it was with my distraction from God. Because I couldn’t physically see Him, I didn’t see a need for communion with Him and my thoughts were absorbed in countless activities and images.
Now I desire to spend all of my time with an awareness of His presence. There’s something very powerful that happens when I consciously know He is with me.
I pray that wherever I go, my environment will be a sanctuary where I will continually worship the Lord with a heart of gratefulness, adoration and recognition of His grace, mercy and love.
