"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
Hebrews 12:1-3
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Colossians 3:23

I read a recent study that said the average adult makes 33,000-35,000 daily decisions. Reading that statistic alone makes me exhausted. Each day, we are faced with countless decisions on how we live our lives. The longer I walk with Jesus, the more I learn that I become what I behold. I don’t have much control over anything, but one of the few things I do have control over is what I choose to fixate my mind on. When our hearts are fully devoted to him, he is faithful in giving us the endurance to run the race he has set before us.

When faced with a challenge, I don’t always know the how behind it. Lord, how is this going to work? Lord, how is it that you are going to sustain me this time?

However, I can always know the why behind my actions. Candidly, sometimes finding the how behind tasks and challenges feels overwhelming. But in this season of growth I’m in right now, the Lord has taught me that when I show up to where he has called me with my why (Colossians 3:23), he is faithful to provide the how every time. If you are weary today and exhausted from making countless decisions, I encourage you to find your “why” today. Today, in this moment, let’s choose Jesus one step at a time, one decision at a time.
