"One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle and set me high upon a rock."
Psalm 27:4-5
“Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus… Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”
Philippians 3:13-14, 16

My ego resists me when I trust God instead of it. When He became the focus of my thoughts, I was able to get rid of my worries, anxiety and fears because there is nothing about which I should be apprehensive. My soul is in a state of quiet rest when I am trusting Him with my future. All of my ambitions, dreams and goals are no longer creating stress for me because I have replaced them with the single desire to continually abide in His presence. The contentment I experience is the serene confidence that all of the events going on in my life are happening because of something He is orchestrating. There is no longer a need for me to make judgments or to be influenced by my circumstances. They are what they are and by seeking the Lord and His Kingdom, I am able to persistently experience His righteousness, peace and joy. It has become a wonderful way to live and I give Him all the glory and praise.
