"I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”
Isaiah 42:6-9

As a family we recently watched the movie The Pursuit of Happyness. If you aren’t familiar with the storyline it’s a true story about a man who went from rags to riches. As you watch this man experience great loss and hardship you can’t help but become his biggest cheerleader. As his story unfolds he overcomes setback after setback and one hardship after another. At the end of the movie, I was overwhelmed with tears and relief when he finally found success, what the movie calls “true happyness”. According to the world’s standards this man found happiness. Which I have no doubt that he did as he stepped out of financial hardship. But happiness found in anything other than God is fleeting. We all know that true happiness, true joy, comes from knowing Jesus. Out of response to everything God has taught me and done for me I want to tell others about Him. I want to reach people who don’t have that true joy and happiness that comes from knowing Him.
