For many years I lived for self-gratification, not realizing that I was focusing on the wrong objective. God did not create me for my pleasure; He created everything for His pleasure. However, since I am made in His image, through following Jesus I have discovered the joy of living by delighting myself in Him. In that way I am able to live happily, regardless of what is happening around me. Adversity, instead of being something that hinders me from being cheerful, forms the kind of environment necessary for me to experience the deepest and most blessed kind of fellowship with the Lord. By living in continual awareness of His presence and focusing on the Kingdom of Light, I am able to face every moment with the assurance that He is working in, through and around me to accomplish His intended purpose. Nothing in this world can give me more happiness than knowing that I am able to be an instrument for Him.
“Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.”
Romans 11:34-36
“And He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.”
Ephesians 1:9-10
