The day I learned that money was a tool, not a security blanket was the day I learned to trust Jesus. The purpose of money is to buy food, pay bills, buy cars, etc…not to make us feel safe. God used the starting of not one but two businesses to teach me how to trust Him with our finances. We had seasons where we were financially blessed and seasons where we struggled. It was during those difficult seasons where jobs, medical bills, consistent paychecks came and went but God remained the same. It was the reality of God’s faithfulness and provision that shifted my perspective. I had to decide in those challenging seasons what I was going to worship…the tangible things that made me feel secure or the ONE who made me feel secure.
24 “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
Matthew 6:24
