Both of these passages bring me great comfort reminding me that the journey of spiritual growth is not dependent on existing knowledge or fancy institutional degrees, but on the intimacy of my focus and attention upon God and His ways. I’m always being discipled, the question is simply who and what is doing that discipling.
Like drifting on a current, if I’m not actively pursuing and focusing my attention on spending sacred time with God, I’ll subtly get carried away from the spiritual principles and practices God desires for me to find security and strength in. I’m so thankful for His grace. That no matter how many times I fall or fail, He grace desires to still grow me into His likeness day by day.
Thank You, Lord, for the chance to grow in You. Please reveal ways in which I’m distracted by the world so I can further zero in on You and Your truth.
