Acts 4 gives us both a reason and a recipe for boldness. Not only was Peter and John’s boldness evident to all those around them, but the others also recognized the source of where that boldness came from…time with Jesus. We have the chance to spend time with Jesus, too. I wish it could be walking face-to-face with Jesus this side of Heaven, but He’s given us His Word…perfect and complete word for us to read, study, meditate, and dwell on.
As we abide in the Word and actively apply what it says, others will recognize there’s something different…that we’ve spent time with Jesus. Despite that truth, I wish I could say I’m perfect at this. In a world of dings, bings, and pings, it’s hard to stay focused and concentrated with so much noise out there. But unlike anything or anyone I could spend my time with, it’s Jesus who can not only transform my life but use me and my boldness as a light to others.
Lord, please reveal ways I can spend more time with You, and may I truly take the truths in Your Word to heart and live out your will and your ways for my life.
