There is only one way to receive God’s grace from Jesus’ sacrifice, and that is through faith. I can’t work hard enough or do enough for God in order to receive grace outside of believing that Jesus’ sacrifice is enough to cover me. When I think about how to apply this idea of atonement to my day-to-day life, I find that Hebrews 11:26 gives good direction. Moses was able to put aside worldly concerns and hindrances because in faith, “he was looking ahead to his reward.” What are you looking ahead to? What reward are you looking to receive? We have a rich reward in Jesus! Let’s be people who are centered on looking ahead to the promise of eternal redemption, not regarding anything as of greater value than living a life for the sake of Christ.
"For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past."
Romans 3:25
"He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward."
Hebrews 11:26
