"Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet."
Acts 4:36-37

I would encourage you to go back a few verses and start reading in verse 32. It says, “All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.”  These believers had a loose grip on what they owned and their finances. They most likely knew that everything they had was from God  and it all belonged to Him. What kind of grip do you have on the things that God has given you? Is it loose, are you willing to let it all go, give it away? Or is your grip tight? Are you unwilling to share and give what God has given you? I think it’s worth asking the Lord where you stand on this matter and if you aren’t where you want to be say a simple prayer asking the Lord to loosen your grip. If I’m being honest I can be really good at giving my time and talents but it’s a lot harder for me to give my money. I need to work on that. It says in verse 34, “that there were no needy persons among them.” Let’s be of one heart and of one mind.
