I’ve written and erased this devotional several times, and now it’s past due. Thankfully, the person who will edit this is as gracious as they come. I feel privileged but also burdened to do well in representing Cypress Creek Church and the quality of content sent out. I’ve prayed, asked God for the right words, studied Scripture for further insight(and to make sure I don’t say anything heretical), and asked friends and mentors about their experience and wisdom on the topic and their prayers.
The bigger picture is that I am ultimately representing Christ in my writing and even more so in the way I live my life.
But how do we know how to represent him well?
This is not something we can do without the covering of Christ himself. So therefore, we begin by humbling ourselves before Him in prayer and worship, recognizing our need for Him, and asking for His guidance. We study not to puff up our ego, and not only because Scripture demands it, but because God will teach, admonish, encourage, and direct us through His Word. We commune and pray with other believers in all different stages of life, learning from each other’s experience and wisdom that the Lord has given them. We should have hearts of gratitude, recognizing that every good and perfect gift is from above. This takes us full circle back to hearts of worship, humbly postured towards the Lord in all we do.
It seems that everything begins and ends in praise, giving all glory to God!
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in Heaven.”
-Mathew 5:16
